Indra Jatra!!

Indra Jatra is also known as Yenya in Nepal Bhasa.Ye means "Kathmandu" and Ya means "Celebration".So,it means celebration inside Kathmandu:in Nepal Bhasa. It is one of the biggest street festival in Kathmandu.It is eight day long festival followed by chariot procession on 24th, 25th and 28th of September 2018.It was started by King Gunakamadeva.

All together there are eight bhairabs temples in Basatapur,Kathamandu among them Sweat Bhairab is the one.The temple only opens once in a year i.e. is  during Indra Jatra festival.The statue of the Bhairav is kept hidden inside  a wooden curtain throughout the year.It is the most dangerous form of lord Shiva.It is Built to protect city from all threats.
During Indra Jatra tradition nepali liquor and rice beer is distributed from a pipe coming out of the mouth of Bhairav .

Fewa Lake

I was traveling to Pokhara with my family members, so i decided to capture the beauty of Pokhara but unfortunately  weather did not favored me.Since, I arrived Pokhara the weather  was not good,it was  raining continuously. On the fourth day of my Pokhara visit the rain finally stopped but the weather was not that clear So i only got chance to capture Lakeside(Fewa Taal).



 Fewa Lake is also known as Fewa Taal or Baidam Tal. It is located in the south of Pokhara where as Pokhara is 204.5 km away from the capital city of Nepal i.e. Kathmandu. Pokhara is the city on Fewa Lake.It is also the gateway to the  Annapurna Circuit. Tal Barahi is located at the center of Fewa Lake. Sarangkot is the only place in Pokhara for paragliding where you can fly over Fewa Taal enjoying the bird's-eye view of beautiful Fewa Lake.  Pokhara is one of the major tourist destination.

Ghanta Ghar is situated at the heart of Kathmandu Valley.It is literally translated as Bell Tower.It is one of the noticeable landmark in Kathmandu.In the past days, people had no scientific means of knowing time.People used to guess the time by feeling their wrist and watching the sun.It was built by Rana Prime Minister Bir Shumsher. It was designed after Big Ben of London.

An Evening at Pashupatinath Temple!!

Pashupatinath is the famous Hindu Temple located in the bank of Bagmati river.It is one of the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE listed in 1979. Maha Shivaratri is one of the major festival and over a million people visit Pashupatinath Temple on this day.

Lava Jatra Hadigaun!!

In this festival people celebrate and worship Tundal Devi and Bhatbhateni. During this festival young girls and married women fast for whole day to please goddesses and carried out a parade from Tundal Devi to Bhatbhateni. People believe that this will safeguard their family success and is also believed that unmarried girl will get good husband.

Hadigaun Jatra!!


Chariot pulled during the festival in Hadigaun, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Hadigaun is said to be one of the urban settlements of Nepal.They had a historical connections from Kirat to Malla days. Hadigaun is popular for Jatras. The people of Hadigaun put the Gods around Chariot and move around certain places of Hadigaun. Lots of Jatras takes place in  the premises of Hadigaun. SatyaNarayan Jatra, the Jatra of Tundaldevi and BhatBhateni, and DhanGanesh Jatra are famous Jatras of Hadigaun.
